Privacy
Sportland is a small, local directory for Greater Portland, Maine. You can browse every listing without signing up for anything. We only collect what you choose to send us through a form, we use it for the reason you sent it, and we never sell it.

WHAT WE COLLECT
Monthly email
Your email address and which page you signed up on. We send the newsletter through an email provider, so your address is shared with them for that one job. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
Tell us about a group
The group details you send, plus your email. We use your email only to follow up on that submission.
Advertising inquiries
Your name, email, business, link, what you’re interested in, and your message. We use it to reply to you about advertising.
Sportland Hoops
Your name and phone number, kept in a private spreadsheet. We use them only for Hoops updates and the WhatsApp group.
Form submissions are stored in the site’s own database (Hoops signups live in the private spreadsheet instead). Only the people who run Sportland can see them.
WHAT WE DON’T DO
There are no accounts and no payments on this site. If you leave a tip, that happens on Buy Me a Coffee, which has its own privacy policy. We don’t use advertising cookies or trackers, and the only cookie we set is the sign-in for the site’s own admin page, which regular visitors never get.
We count visits with PostHog in its cookieless mode, so it doesn’t set cookies or store anything on your device. We see totals like page views, which sites sent visitors here, and which group links get clicked. We never send your email, name, or phone number to it.
Every listing links out to the group that runs it. Once you click through, that group’s own site and policies apply.
GETTING YOUR INFO REMOVED
Want to see what we have, fix it, or have it deleted? Email hellosportlandmaine@gmail.com and we’ll take care of it. To stop the monthly email, use the unsubscribe link in any issue.
